No matter from where you are coming to Andechs, the free coach park lies directly at the foot of the Holy Mountain.
Start your visit with a guided tour (after prior booking) through the monastery brewery, on the right as seen from the coach park. Your route will then take you up to the pilgrimage church. We shall be honoured when you attend the service with us. From July to October, the pilgrimage church is the venue of a free twenty-minute presentation where you can learn more about the history of the Holy Mountain. Or you and your group (after prior booking) can take part in a private one-hour guided tour. We shall, of course, be pleased to plan your quite special day with us on the Holy Mountain. Simply call us on 08152-376-253, or send us an email.
The monastery shop below the pilgrimage church offers you traditional waxworks and a wide range of religious ethnic art, books, postcards, CDs, glasses, and mugs as souvenirs of your visit. It is also worth your while to browse through our online shop.
With a unique view from its large terrace, the rustic Bräustüberl tavern will be pleased to serve you Bavarian delicacies from the monastery butcher’s and the distillery, monastery beer fresh from the keg, and Andechs soft drinks. Here too, you can take an afternoon coffee with a wide choice of tasty cakes in the Wappensaal café. This gastronomy finds its perfect supplement in the Klostergasthof tavern offering Bavarian cuisine for discerning guests and the beer garden opposite providing a variety of tasty Steckerlfisch, or fish delicacies on a stick, in the shade of its chestnut trees.
In August and September, the Andechs Organ Summer provides a cultural treat. And every year on the fourth Sunday in Advent, there is a great Christmas concert. These events inevitably draw a huge number of guests, so we recommend booking your tickets in good time on 08152-376-400.
