This modern brewery in the Andechs monastery is only a short walk away from the large free carpark.
Yet also Munich public transport can take you to the monastery within the hour. Guided tours – On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays (excluding public holidays), there are one-hour guided tours through the monastery brewery where we will familiarise you with the Western art of brewing and the Benedictine brewing tradition on the Holy Mountain. Yet also a guided look through the Andechs pilgrimage church is worth your while. Please book all guided tours in advance, either on 08152-376253 or by email.
And if you wish to taste all seven types of Andechs monastery beer under professional instruction, you can take part in the beer tasting event at the Klostergasthof tavern. Please book your attendance in advance at the Klostergasthof, either on 08152-9309-0 or by email.
You have the choice between three culinary locations: the traditional Bräustüberl tavern with its large terrace and the magnificent panorama of the Alpine foothills, the Klostergasthof tavern with Bavarian cuisine for discerning guests, or the beer garden opposite in the shade of its chestnut trees.
The delicacies from the monastery butcher’s are best enjoyed, of course, with an Andechs monastery beer fresh from the keg or an Andechs soft drink served in the Bräustüberl. And if you want to take home with you a little of the feeling at the Holy Mountain, you can try our four and six packs (“Tragerl”) that you can purchase from the Bräustüberl. Additional welcome souvenirs are our cream cheese specialities or our Andechs monastery bacon that our cold counter will be pleased to package for your return home. And once at home, you don’t need to pine for Andechs beer specialities either. Our beer supplier database (currently in German only) tells you where you can find Andechs beer specialities near you. Suitable Andechs glasses and mugs as well as other souvenirs of your visit can be found in our monastery and online shops (shipping only in Germany).
